Should I get my house or windows cleaned if the forecast calls for rain?

For most of the country when the forecast calls for a rainy day it is usually as forecasted. However in our local area of Amelia Island, Fernandina Beach and Yulee a local saying is “If you don’t like the weather just wait 15 minutes”. So this uncertainty leads many of our customers to ask us.. If it rains during my scheduled appointment, will it affect the quality of my service?

For window cleaning, a common misconception is that rain makes windows dirty. In reality rain is naturally purified and has no effect on the service. Therefore it is common practice for window cleaners to continue working before or even during a rain storm. Is it fun to clean in the rain? No 🙂 However it will not affect the quality of your service.

What about having my house washed in the rain? The process we use for house washing relies on applying an algaecide to kill the algae and mold that naturally grows on your homes siding. On a normal sunny day before we begin washing, we thoroughly water down and tarp any delicate landscaping that may be adversely effected by the algaecide. So on rainy days, it actually helps in protecting your landscaping by naturally saturating before as well as rinsing after.

So the next time you schedule a service and notice the chance of bad weather don’t worry! If you do however decide to re-schedule we of course will be happy to accommodate. Regardless of the weather on your scheduled service date, we guarantee all of our work and will gladly come back for any reason if you are not 100% completely satisfied!
